(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) Oct. 21, 2013-North Point Music ushers in the Christmas spirit with its second Christmas release, North Point Christmas: Let There Be Light, Oct. 29. The project is a mix of both traditional Christmas songs and new ones, sure to be a holiday staple this season and in the years to come.
Produced by two-time GRAMMY Award-winning producer Nathan Nockels (Matt Redman, Laura Story, Passion), Let There Be Light is a follow-up to North Point Music's debut Christmas album, North Point Christmas (2010), which saw widespread success, particularly at radio, where it received extensive airplay on stations across the country.
"Since the release of our first Christmas project a few years ago, we've been overwhelmed with requests for another Christmas album," says North Point Music's Matt Williams. "While Let There Be Light still has several corporate options to use at our church and others, it's a bit more accessible to the average listener. It includes a few more classic songs than the last one, making it a great option for anyone who enjoys Christmas music-- whether you're at North Point or anywhere else."
Let There Be Light continues in the t radition of its predecessor with vocal performances by celebrated North Point worship leaders including Dove Award winner Seth Condrey, Todd Fields, Eddie Kirkland, and Casey Darnell, among others. Tracks range from Christmas favorites like "O Holy Night," "What Child Is This," "Silent Night," and "I'll Be Home for Christmas" to original tunes such as "Hallelujah," "Dawn Is Breaking," and "Unto Us."
"It was such a privilege to be part of a project like Let There Be Light," says North Point worship leader Casey Darnell, who is featured on the album. "A lot of people only attend church at Christmas or Easter, so hopefully this CD is a way for them to take something meaningful that they hear or experience with them throughout the season."
